Black tea is revered as the beverage of choice in many parts of the world.  Classic and enduring, rich in colour with a more penetrating flavour.  Usually has a higher concentration of caffeine when compared to other teas.  Black tea has its origins in the same plant which produces both green and white teas, the Camellia sinensis.  The mark of distinction is found in the deep dark colour which is achieved through the fermentation process.  For those preferring milder flavours a dash of honey, cream, almond or soy milk will create a delightful sipping experience.

Here you will find a good selection of the world's finest imported black teas which will provide you with unsurpassed quality, aroma and quality.  All varieties offered on this page we have re-packaged in Canada and obtained from our supplier Mountain Rose Herbs of Oregon.  Mountain Rose is certified organic through OTCO and the USDA and the selections featured here were certified Earth Kosher with several certified Fair Trade through the Fair For Life program.

We package our Loose Leaf Teas in:

Attention to the proper amount of tea required for a flavourful beverage results in an exceptional brew following the recommended steeping time.  A proper brew offers unsurpassed aroma and taste producing a non-bitter sipping experience.  If tea needs to be stronger you need to add more tea, not steep longer.  Tea becomes bitter and far less enjoyable with extended brewing time as too many tannins are released resulting in an astringent taste.
